ARAGUANEY FOUNDATION

Araguaney Foundation is a private cultural non-profit organization established in Santiago de Compostela in 1984. Despite its localization, its scope of operations extends to the whole Spanish nation. Endowed with an enormous symbolic value, its denomination refers to the national tree of Venezuela, the araguanay, a tree that produces a great number of golden flowers between the months of February and April. This really strong tree can reach 12 meters high and it manages to get through very tough situations.

The Foundation depends on the Araguaney Business Group, that believes in the need to develop and strengthen an active and voluntary contribution for the benefit of the community it belongs to. The corporate social responsibility seeks a new balance among the economic, social, cultural and environmental dimensions.

In 2004, on the 20th  anniversary of its establishment, Araguaney Foundation became Araguaney Foundation - Bridge of Cultures [Fundación Araguaney - Puente de Culturas], in reference to the main goal of the organization: to bring closer the Spanish, South American and Arab cultures.

Since 2008 the Foundation is member of the World Alliance for Cultural Diversity of UNESCO, a recognition that encourages us to keep working with the "amal" (hope) of moving forward.
