The International Euroarab Film Festival Amal has closed the deadline to participate in its eighth year, which will be held between 23rd and 30th October. This year's enrolment has increased by 40% compared to the previous edition and there have been films from 51 countries worldwide. The impact of Amal keeps on growing year after year and the Festival is increasingly recognized internationally.
The largest number of productions from Arab countries comes from Palestine, followed by Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria. On the other hand, France leads the participation in non-Arab countries, and then, Spain and United Kingdom.
This year the number of productions of fiction and documentary is well matched, which is a novelty, because so far the documentary genre had always exceeded fiction. Regarding the format, Amal has received more short films that feature films: among the first, fiction predominates, and in the case of feature films, mostly of them are documentaries.
The works selected for the eighth edition of Amal will be screened at the venues of the Festival, and the short films, both documentary and fiction, can be watched via through this website, as it happened in the last edition.
